Some additional resources (also included on our NCSAM page, www.educause.edu/ncsam<http://www.educause.edu/ncsam>,
which Frances mentioned in an earlier response):

The Cybersecurity Awareness Resource Library is a compilation of materials created by colleges and universities that
can be adapted – or used to inspire new materials.
https://wiki.internet2.edu/confluence/display/2014infosecurityguide/Cybersecurity+Awareness+Resource+Library

The National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) also has many free resources, including posters, buttons, certificates,
website graphics, and more: http://www.staysafeonline.org/ncsam/get-involved/promote-ncsam

The FTC has a website where you can order free bulk quantities of educational materials. The “best sellers” are listed
on the main page, but you’ll find resources on Privacy & Security for Businesses, Privacy & Identity, as well as Scams.
https://bulkorder.ftc.gov/Default.aspx

If you still can’t find what you’re looking for, please let us know, and we might be able to find examples or create
new resources.

We found almost 200 institutions participating in NCSAM last year, whether they signed up as a champion through NCSA or
held more formal events and activities on campus throughout the month of October. Hopefully you will find a wide range
of programs as you begin planning your 2014 efforts.

Thank you!
Valerie

Edward, I like that idea, we call them 'lightening talks' at large group offerings. Typically a sharing of new ideas
and tech topics people are working on, but I was thinking maybe a fun slide show from our 'safe computing' site might
reach more of the masses with awareness content that we could revise annually. Just a thought.

usually have a couple of brown bag lunch type of events.
We have had really good success with "Its Just Lunch" efforts where we invite staff to "Speed date" the Information
Security Team. Set up tables of 6-7 attendees and members of the InfoSec team rotate through each table with 5-7 mini
presentations on a info sec topic such as phishing, what is SQL injection (for the layperson), cyberbullying etc.
We also have procured materials from MS-ISAC. All these efforts have really paid off for us. There is a raised
awareness and increased communication and reporting.
Feel free to email me directly if you (or anyone else here) would like more info.

Greetings everyone,

We are curious to know if other institutions formalize some sort of program based on 'National Cyber Security
Awareness Month' in October? If you do, could you elaborate on what you do specifically and where you find your
materials (electronically as well as print media)?

Thank you,

Jeff
