macintosh and 802.1X

We are in the process of putting 802.1X authentication on our switch interfaces. We have noticed, the macintosh's we 
have moved to 802.1X, does not appear to request authentication. We have to either turn off the machine or unplug the 
ethernet cable. Has anybody run into this, or know of a solution. We are using Cisco ISE version 1.2.0
