The frequency has always been settable by the system admin. At least in
the early days, the default was weekly, but the frequency set by the
user has always been carried over by upgrades.

It's been a while since I've last looked but the update checking

I think checks were every week or greater, I can't quite remember.

You may want to switch that to daily checks.

HTH.

Hi,

After seeing Macs with incomplete updates, I've put together a
one pager than talks a little about how a Mac user can ensure
that they've got all (or at least most) of their installed
software up-to-date; a draft is available at:

http://pages.uoregon.edu/joe/mac-software-updates.pdf

If you've got feedback or suggestions for changes to that
document, please feel free to send feedback to me at

Thanks,

Joe
