Our declared "releasable directory information" includes photographs.  See:
http://www.usu.edu/registrar/htm/ferpa
However, our ID photos are used only for internal, administrative purposes to display along with the person's 
university data (employment, academic (including class photo galleries for instructors), It resource registration, 
etc).  We do not show ID photos on publicly accessible webpages nor do we release ID photos to the press.  Sports 
participants have their own photo roster for press release purposes.

Recently we have been asked to look into the possibility of including the students  photos as part of D2L class list 
and part of the  class list that part of the students information system (SIS). If any of you  have the students’ 
photos as part of SIS  or D2L, can you share with us any FERPA issues you had and how you managed to overcome them?
