Asset management versus loss prevention

Is anyone using an asset management tool that doubles as a loss prevention tool? For example, our asset management is 
in essence a database, but it doesn't have features like Lo-Jack or Ben the Bodyguard. Right now our understanding is 
that loss-prevention tools are necessarily distinct from asset management and we're trying to find a way to tie them 
together.
