Purpose of position

Provide departmental leadership in the absence of the Information Security
Officer, including the attendance of meetings and reporting to senior
management. Assist the Information Security Officer in managing the day to
day operations of the Information Security Office.

 

Essential functions 

Provide departmental leadership in the absence of the Information Security
Officer, including the attendance of meetings and reporting to senior
management. Assist the Information Security Officer in managing the day to
day operations of the Information Security Office. Assist the Information
Security Officer in project management of information security initiatives.
Assist the Information Security Officer in the development and management of
security policies and procedures. Assist the Information Security Officer in
the management of escalated security related issues and incidents. Assist
the Information Security Officer in the management of security compliance
requirements. Example: PCI, HIPAA, FERPA, etc. Assist the Information
Security Officer in the management of security risk assessments. Provide
departmental leadership in the management of the Incident Response Plan.

 

Marginal/Incidental functions 

Other functions as assigned. 

 

Required qualifications 

Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field. 4 years of
experience in networks, databases, security, and web development with at
least 2 years of experience in a managerial role. Applicants must include in

Preferred qualifications 

Certifications related to the duties and responsibilities specified,
including but not limited to CNA, CCNA, CISA, CISSP, MCSE, SSCP, and SANS
GIAC. Experience with web development, scripting, and/or programming.
Working, practical experience, with at least one of the following: Cisco Pix
Firewall, TippingPoint IPS, Snort or Sourcefire IDS, Microsoft ForeFront,
ClamAV, vCenter Configuration Management Software, SafeBoot, WinMagic,
Watchfire or IBM AppScan, Cenzic Application Scanner, Oracle/Peoplesoft
security, MySQL, MS SQL, LDAP, Kerberos, Active Directory, Apache, IIS,
Nessus vulnerability scanner, Sendmail, IronPort, Email Encryption, Identity
Finder, Data Loss Prevention tools, SMTP, SNMP, Perl, Unix Shell, C, C++,
PHP, or Java. Excellent communication skills. Team-oriented and
self-motivated within a team environment.

 

Working conditions 

May work around standard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at
a workstation.
