Security Sessions at EDUCAUSE 2010: Which Sessions Will You Be Attending?

Dear Colleagues,

The 2010 EDUCAUSE Annual Conference starts this week, October
12-15 in Anaheim, CA  There are almost 50 security-related sessions
<http://tinyurl.com/e10security>, and the Higher Education Information
Security Council (HEISC) would like to provide some highlights.

Kick-start your week in Anaheim by joining us for the HEISC Open Meeting
<http://www.educause.edu/E2010/Program/MTG19> on Tuesday, October 12,
3-4 pm PDT in Room 211A. This session will provide you with an
opportunity to network with your fellow information security
professionals prior to the EDUCAUSE 2010 opening reception on Tuesday
evening. (If you can't join us in person for the open meeting, consider

On Wednesday, stop by EDUCAUSE Central between 10-11 am PDT to meet
Rodney Petersen, Government Relations Officer and Director of EDUCAUSE
Cybersecurity Initiative. Later that day, join the HEISC Governance,
Risk, & Compliance co-chairs as they lead a discussion on "Assessing
Service Providers for Privacy, Security, and Business Continuity".

On Thursday, you can hear about the latest developments in Washington
from a panel of campus privacy and security experts who will discuss the
practical impact. There will also be an Identity & Access Management
Working Group Community Update that will feature a discussion of
EDUCAUSE's implementation of federated identity management.

Wrap-up the week with a panel discussion on "Leveraging Community
Resources for Securing Small and Midsized Institutions".
