What does Symantec Support tell you? We recently implemented SEP and didn't see any of this.....are you dealing with a mix of 32-bit/64-bit systems? From: The EDUCAUSE Security Constituent Group Listserv [mailto:SECURITY () LISTSERV EDUCAUSE EDU] On Behalf Of Entwistle, Bruce Sent: Wednesday, September 01, 2010 12:50 PM To: SECURITY () LISTSERV EDUCAUSE EDU Subject: [SECURITY] Symantec Installation We encounter the message below when installing Symantec Endpoint Protection, however the reboot does not resolve the installation issue. The current resolution is to go into the Registry Editor and do a Find command on "PendingFileRenameOperations", then delete the instances of this key. Has anyone found a better solution?
