October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM), coordinated by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), along with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC). NCSA has made it easy for your institution to participate by providing a website that includes lots of free materials: * Endorsement Forms Institutions can show their commitment to cyber security by endorsing October 2010 as National Cyber Security Awareness month. The endorsement form can be completed online. (http://www.staysafeonline.org/content/endorse-ncsam) * Banners Help promote NCSAM 2010 by placing web banners on your institution's website. (http://www.staysafeonline.org/content/banners-posters-more) * Customizable Posters, Bookmarks, & More! NCSA has a library of free materials to help you develop your education and awareness campaign. (http://www.staysafeonline.org/content/banners-posters-more) * Tip Sheets The NCSA has developed a new series of tip sheets to provide in-depth information on how to stay safe in a variety of online settings (social networking sites, gaming sites, and mobile devices). (http://www.staysafeonline.org/content/ncsam-tip-sheets) * Event Calendar Advertise your event and help the NCSA demonstrate the number and variety of events taking place to raise awareness this October. An online form is available. (http://www.staysafeonline.org/content/ncsam-2010-events) * NCSA's YouTube Channel View many security-related videos. (http://www.youtube.com/staysafeonline1) As always all NCSA materials, endorsements, and event listings are free. Materials have been designed for easy downloading and repurposing. Contact NCSA if you need graphic files suitable for printing. The National Cyber Security Alliance really hopes that members of the higher education community will use the available materials, endorse the month, and let them know about any events your campus has planned. If you have questions or need additional information, please don't hesitate to contact NCSA (info () staysafeonline org<mailto:info () staysafeonline org>).
