Looking for institution-specific social networking policies

Greetings! I am writing to ask if any of your organizations have specific policies about the actual institutional use of Facebook or other social networking sites. In other words, do you have any policies that govern whether a department can put up a social networking page and/or guidelines about what is allowed to be posted, how access is controlled, how its allowed to be branded, etc. For example, let's say an Admissions department wants to put up a page to attract new students. Are there any rules or regulations in your organizations that affect them doing so? I know that some of you have appropriate use policies for basic end-user behavior on social networking sites, but that is different from what I'm asking. Please feel free to respond off-list if you prefer. Thanks! -Cathy Catherine J. Ullman Information Security Analyst Information Security Office University at Buffalo cende () buffalo edu
