Lanier copiers/printers have a dodd wipe feature included on most of
their units. Our contract states all leased copiers from our provider
have this feature turned on.

I saw this issue pop up in the interwebs a couple of weeks ago. You would think the industry would provide some sort
of maintenance mode HD wipe feature standard, especially for leased units. I like when the guy said the security
features on the one digital copier cost $500 extra. With leased units would ever really know what you were getting
with a security feature set. Seems like you would almost be better off asking the leasing company for a keep the
hard drive option for digital copiers.

Don't forget printers with flash memory and hard drives can store fun stuff also.

Thanks...

Summary: cbsnews bought a few used copiers at random and discovered lots of sensitive information on the harddrives
that were inside of them.
