In our group [infrastructure services, admin IT] our policy is lock your
screen when your leave your workstation, screen saver at 5 minutes or less
and password to unlock. Enforced by peer pressure and random checks. ;)

For windows machines that are part of "the collective" it is the default
setting and not changeable, with the approved university logo screensaver.

Other groups vary by need.

I am curious to know how other peer institutions are setting up their
timeout/lockout settings.

How are you enforcing the timeouts (pointsec, windows settings,
screensaver,etc)?

How long must the PC be inactive for the timeout setting to take effect? Do
the time limits vary based on user?

Thanks all!
