This highly visible management position leads other help desk staff and oversees KU's front line technical and networking support for KU faculty, staff, and students. This position plans, directs, supervises, and evaluates work flow of the Help Desk; coordinates work activities to achieve the volume expected to meet operational requirements; recognizes and recommends operational improvements through regular service assessments; develops telephone, negotiation, and service skills in CSC staff; resolves complex or sensitive complaints; provides monthly reports to IT Leadership Team. In addition to highly developed verbal communication skills, this position requires 3+ years managing teams providing customer service in a technical environment; 3+ yeras experience working in an environment requiring daily interaction with customers/users needing technical assistance through a variety of contacts; 2 years experience with Knowledge Base and Event Management tools; proven record of setting priorities to achieve timely completion of numerous concurrent tasks; recent technical experience which includes knowledge of desktop hardware and software, experience in multiple computer platforms (i.e. Windows, Mac), web development, networking, and enterprise-level IT service delivery.
