If you want it for free use snort, if you have some monies left in your budget 
use sourcefire.  All others are just derivative works.  I really can't say 
more without being accused of cheerleading or getting kickbacks. ;)

That being said, with either solution you are going to need 1 FTE dedicated to 
it.
