Job Function:
The Forensic Investigator position is part of the IT Security team and, more specifically, is a senior member of the 
Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT). This position requires a solid foundation of technical experience, 
expertise and strong analytical and communication skills. This individual will work with university legal counsel, 
university administration, as well as with various law enforcement officials, responding to numerous electronic 
discovery and computer investigation requests. A strong background in forensic practices, procedures and evidence 
handling is required. A general understanding of the litigation process is preferred.

Position will maintain and employ knowledge of university IT and network operations in order to conduct litigation 
support duties, establish and maintain rapport with university departments, and assist developing litigation processes 
and methodologies.

This individual will perform electronic discovery and computer forensic services including digital evidence 
preservation, analysis, data recovery, tape recovery, electronic mail extraction, and database examination. Other 
duties include administrating technical systems that support the OU Cyber Forensics Lab and helping secure the 
university's network.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
-Bachelor's degree in a computer related field OR an equivalent combination of education/job related experience.
-36 months of computer investigation or computer forensics experience.
            Departmental Preferences:
-Computer forensic certifications such as Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC), EnCase Certified Examiner 
(EnCE), and AccessData Certified Examiner (ACE).
-IT Security certifications such as SANS Security Essentials (GSEC) or Certified Information Systems Security 
Professional (CISSP) are preferred.
-A general understanding of the litigation process is preferred.
Proficiencies:
-Familiarity with the use of technology in various areas of computer investigation and litigation such as forensics, 
incident response, discovery, e-discovery, hearings and trials;
-Possess interpersonal skills necessary to maintain effective relationships with attorneys and other staff;
-Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks under time constraints with little supervision;
-Familiarity with Windows and Linux server operating systems, Active Directory, networks, and database management.
