Different antivirus software on clients and servers

We here at the University of Tampa are looking to change our antivirus
vendor from Symantec to Sophos. I would like to hear any comments on the
use  Sophos in your  environment. Also is anyone out there using 1
vendor for your clients and another vendor for your servers or are you
using only 1 vendor for all your clients and servers to include the SMTP
gateway. Does anyone know of any best practices for installing multiple
vendors for AV products. Please feel free to contact off list.
