THE DEPARTMENT: The mission of the I&IT Division is to provide stewardship, leadership, and service in support of the teaching and learning mission of the University. I&IT has primary responsibility for the security of campus information systems and data.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the general direction of the Information Security Officer (ISO), the Senior Security Analyst conducts in-depth technical security reviews, risk assessments, documents recommendations for risk mitigation, as well as provide guidance and leadership on related activities. Researches, evaluates, designs and implements information security solutions, guidelines, standards, policies, and procedures that protect University information assets. Facilitates assessments of campus information security program and compliance with prevailing government regulations and CSU wide information security policies. Assists in development and maintenance of appropriate information security incident response policies/procedures; work with campus information technology, internal audit, campus police, student and academic affairs, human resources, and other campus security personnel to protect University information assets and identify violators. Represent information security in project meetings as assigned; and perform other duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Telecommunications, Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related field with five years of relevant full-time experience OR twelve years of relevant full-time experience OR and associate degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Telecommunications, Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related field with seven years of relevant full-time experience. Advanced knowledge of the work area demonstrated by an understanding and use of the advanced principles and theories; ability to integrate and apply work related knowledge to achieve innovative solutions, anticipate the impact of problems and solutions on other systems; investigate and research new systems and technologies, develop complex information technology systems and solutions; understand problems from a broad perspective; ability to explore, conceive and implement solutions and ideas in new ways; ability to predict and anticipate problems and create proactive solutions. Demonstrate communication expertise using persuasion and negotiation; ability to lead technical team efforts and assess skills within a team and working to build on individual strengths to maximize team results; ability to teach and transfer knowledge and skills to others.



PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP); Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP); Security Certified Network Architect (SCNA); Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP); experience in conducting security incident response, including incident investigation; experience in integrating and correlating audit activity and in implementing alerting and monitoring mechanisms; experience in development of security policy, procedures and standards.
