I don't think it is outside the scope of the question and is also a concern of mine. One that I throw out regularly
when asked about guest access.

I would also like to know others impressions/feelings/facts on how CALEA and guest access cross paths.

This might be outside of this thread but how are you handling CALEA
compliance?

We would like to get an idea of how many institutions provide open/guest
wireless access.

. Is you wireless open and unrestricted campus-wide or do you only
provide open wireless to designated areas?

. What access restrictions and/or other security measures, if any,
are placed on the open wireless network?

I am especially interested to hear from VA State Institutions providing open
wireless access. I would like to initiate a small offline conversation
about open/guest access as it relates to COV-ITRM Standard SEC501-01.

I do welcome feedback from other institutions as well, especially with
respect to security measures implemented in open/guest wireless access and
technologies used for green space coverage.
