I just wanted to make a quick announcement to everyone this morning.

The Educational Security Incidents Year in Review for 2007 is now available.
Found at www.adamdodge.com/esi/year_review_2007, the ESI Year in Review
examines all of the information security incidents occurring at colleges and
universities around the world as reported in the news during 2007.

2007 marked a significant change for information security incidents reported
in the news. Among the changes are an increase in both the number of
incidents reported and the number of institutions reporting a breach as well
as the addition to new categories such as incident type "Employee Fraud" and
information type "Username and Password".

Here is a sample of the information contained in the Educational Security
Incidents (ESI) Year in Review - 2007:

- Total Number of Incidents: 139, a 67.5% increase over 2006
- Total Number of Institutions Affected: 112, a 72.3% increase over 2006
- Total Number of Incidents by Type
  - Employee Fraud: 1
  - Impersonation: 3
  - Loss: 12
