IT Security Engineer position available at the University of Florida

UF IT Security Engineer This position reports to the UF Information Security Manager, Kathy Bergsma, in the Office of Information Technology, Computing and Network Services. As a member of the IT security team, this position will recommend, design and implement IT security strategies for the University of Florida. They will be expected to identify IT risks, minimize exposure, reduce threats, resolve incidents, and improve IT security awareness of the UF community. This position will be expected to perform risk consultation for campus units. They will occasionally make presentations to campus IT workers and end-users. Some assistance with policy development will be expected. While this position will work somewhat independently, they must work well with others on team projects and report regularly to the supervisor. The general work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (one hour for lunch), but this is somewhat flexible. Little travel is expected, but if desired, budget is provided for at least one training or conference trip per year. An FBI background check is required for this position.
