Convergence of physical and logical security.

Are any higher ed. institutions on the list planning or executing
projects aimed at convergence of logical (IT) and physical
(facilities) security ?
If yes,
   * What technologies are you using?
   * What does your organizational structure look like?
   * Who is the business owner of the project and the
system?  Facilities, Police/Security, IT, other?
   * What are the hard lessons learned?  (time/resources/education/other)
