FTP services for Vendor access

I've been charged with investigating our deployment of FTP services used to share data with vendors, contractors, other institutions, etc., and have some questions for the group: 1. Does your organization host ftp services for vendors on a dedicated FTP server, or is it integrated with another server such as web or file and print servers? Is it the same server used by your staff, faculty and/or student users? 2. Do you require secure FTP? 3. What type of service do you use? Examples: FTP on Netware, Windows IIS/FTP, Unix/Linux (with what FTP daemon). 4. How is your environment working for you? Thanks for your information!
