Hi,

Yes it is legal .. we allow students here to do it and we will even do it for them.  It is against our AUP for them to 
run a business on our network, but if
they want to run a club or non profit, it's fine with us.

I have a student who registered a DNS name and set it to point to his
own server inside of our campus.  It is against our Acceptable Use
Policy, but is it legal?
