I wonder if in the EU edittion of Windows, MS introduced a command
called ciao ... or at least an alias to exit named ciao...

Yes, this is real. Just detected it this morning...

c:\winnt > alg install "Landr" "The Local Area Network

c:\winnt > net start landr

The service name is invalid.
More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 2185.

c:\winnt > alg install Landr "The Local Area Network
Security" "Secure
the local area network" "f:\System~1\com1\zoby\dll32.exe" 1 1

Service Was Installed Successfully

c:\winnt > net start landr

The Local Area Network Security service was started successfully.

c:\winnt > ciao

'ciao' is not recognized as an internal or external
command, operable
program or batch file.

Well we all probably think that it would _have_ to be Italy, but
ciao is used in may places around the world. I work with someone
from Serbia and she ends calls with her husband/family with that
salutation.

c:\winnt > exit
