I was disappointed to see that there was neither mention of nor reference to
the EduCause and Internet2 collaborations in this space.  In particular with
the reference to vulnerability scripting, quarantine, and such - this is
exactly the space that the Internet2 NetAuth group and EduCause Security
Task Force leadership have been working on with the Strategies for
Automating Network Policy Enforcement document
(http://security.internet2.edu/netauth/docs/draft-internet2-salsa-netauth-su
mmary-02.html) and the upcoming edial conference (Valerie sent a note to
this list early this week).



FWIW, I sent him a note inviting him to review the EduCause and Internet2
web materials and suggested that he consider researching these sources and
perhaps include references in any future articles on academia.
