Schuylkill County officials are taking the first steps in letting residents
know if their information may have been compromised in database searches.

County commissioners have given the go-ahead to transferring $64,000 to
start the process of notifying residents.

Earlier this month, they tied on a vote to fire two tax claim employees for
allegedly running unauthorized searches on people.

Commissioners already approved sending out a letter to anyone whose
personal information was seen.
