http://www.sun-sentinel.com/local/palm-beach/fl-pn-lakeworth-zombie-alert-05222018-story.html Even the zombies probably aren’t sure who ratted on them. An alert went out to residents at 1:41 a.m. Sunday — in the middle of the night — warning of a “power outage and zombie alert” for residents of Lake Worth and Terminus,” a reference to a location in the television series “The Walking Dead.” “There are now far less than seven thousand three hundred and eighty customers involved due to extreme zombie activity,” the alert said. Tuesday, city officials said someone might have hacked their alert system as a prank, though they aren’t sure who or how. The zombie alert has appeared other times since Hurricane Irma, they said, but the city always stopped it before messages actually got sent. What no one said it this: Zombies don’t exist. Instead, City Manager Michael Bornstein promised only that “our zombies are not violent.” The city has scrubbed the prank messages from the alert system and apologized. Community leaders hope visitors won’t be deterred by the warnings. Nor zombies, for that matter. “We have an understanding psyche, and we welcome our zombie population,” Bornstein said. _______________________________________________ BreachExchange mailing list sponsored by Risk Based Security BreachExchange () lists riskbasedsecurity com If you wish to Edit your membership or Unsubscribe you can do so at the following link: https://lists.riskbasedsecurity.com/listinfo/breachexchange
