About 33,000 Halifax Health patients were sent letters this week notifying
them that their personal information might have been compromised -- and
that they should call a credit agency to put a "fraud alert" on their

Ann Martorano, chief marketing officer for the area's largest health care
provider, in a written statement. "However, we are advising patients of
the steps they can take to protect themselves from that possibility."
