State auditors say the agency doesn’t know how much confidential information, if any, is on the missing computers. The computers belong to the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. The agency oversees banking and insurance and issues licenses to people such as doctors, nurses and engineers. When auditors reviewed the department’s property, they noticed 35 laptops and 17 desktop computers were missing. The department says it thought the equipment had been transferred to another agency, but there’s no record of that.
