Cumberland County Employee numbers removed from Web

CARLISLE - Cumberland County officials did a quick computer two-step 
yesterday after learning the Social Security numbers of some of their 
1,200 employees were on the county Web site.

The information likely had been on the site for years, Chief 
Operating Officer John Byrne said.

Fortunately, it wasn't easy to find, and there are no indications the 
snafu resulted in identity theft, Byrne said.
