I've always thought that one of the best ways to learn how to think strategically
about cyber-war (and hacking, etc.) is to read the best science fiction in the area.

Luckily, this is easy to do - Snow Crash, The Long Run and Last Dancer,
Cryptonomicon, etc. All of these are easily available, often for free. Anyone
building offensive tools should really read these books (in this order):
