I think it's cute that they are hiring a Security PR person. Instead of just
doing an amazing job and getting good PR from that they instead hire a
specialist to market what efforts they make.

Do you like the spotlight? Security is our top priority at
Microsoft, and here is your opportunity to play a pivotal
role in making our security strategy successful. You will
take a leadership role and manage a team of communications
professionals to both respond to security events with
effective, targeted outreach strategies, and to develop and
execute a strategic proactive program for PR that focuses on
progress in security across Microsoft and across the security
products that SBU is developing. The scope and
responsibilities of this position include line management and
career development responsibilities for the PR specialists
that you manage; continuing to define and execute on the
overall security image campaign; interfacing on the PR and AR
plans at a senior exec level with server platform leadership,
Windows client, and other teams across the org; driving SBU
PR budgeting; and acting as a press and analyst spokesperson
on behalf of security at Microsoft. Your success in this job
will be based on your ability to maintain your poise in a
rapidly changing environment, your ability to manage and
motivate your direct team, your ability to build credibility
and drive consensus across many diverse teams within
Microsoft, your knowledge of industry analyst and media and
marketing fundamentals, and, above all, your passion for
helping to protect our customers.

To qualify for this position you must have press and analyst
relations experience, and must have a proven track record in
direct employee and agency management. Additional required
attributes include excellent strategic thinking and analysis
skills, and the ability to take decisive action. Outstanding
written and verbal communication skills and the ability to
achieve objectives and deliver results on multiple projects
in a complex, fast-moving environment are mandatory. A BA/BS
degree is required and an MBA or equivalent experience is
preferred. 7+ years in high-tech marketing is required.
