So last night Justine and I went to a bar in midtown with an Immunity
employee and his wife. When we left, we got a yellow cab to our place,
which is in Harlem, all the way on the East side. To get there, you
get the FDR drive and continue on up until the 96th street exit, and
then you get off onto 1st Ave and continue north to Harlem. Well, our
cab driver missed the exit. Then he proceeded over into the Bronx.
Then he decided, instead of turning around, to go deeper into the
Bronx into a really really bad area. At one point, he stopped at a
light, and Justine and I scrambled out. It just so happened that a
metro stop for our line was right there. Luckily, we kept our heads,
since standard practice is for these cabbies to rob, rape and/or kill
you when they've taken you to their hood.

So the lessons of the night are:
1. You can still have horrible things happen to you in NYC if you are
not careful. It's no Mexico City, but the cabbies are not necessarally
to be trusted.
2. Remember to get the cab driver's ID if he tries to kill you.
3. If you are a cab driver trying to rob two people, don't stop at the
light next to the train station.
