I disagree about the reporting function but we are having conversations with your team as we speak about it...

Tool is awesome though...

Full disclosure: I work for Rapid7.

Rapid7's vuln scanner is NeXpose. Community Edition is free; Express is low cost; Consultant (laptop) is relatively low cost; Enterprise is not low cost. We think it has nice client reports ... check it out and decide for yourself. :)

You can compare versions to see which one is right for you here: http://www.rapid7.com/products/nexpose/compare-and-buy.jsp

I hope this helps.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a low cost Vulnerability Scanner that can produce nice client reports?

Thanks
