Its quite usual that programs you run or try to install are not working properly. 
What you see in autostart and other locations you may look at is not the truth, if you want to see what is really going 
on you may try to boot with an external CD (Backtrack) and check the files. Gmer depends on the system also, so a realy 
infected system would influece also Gmers funtionality.
You have 2 choices:
a) you spend some days to identify the attack vector and the malware locations (still having no certitude that the 
system is 100% clean)
b) you take a fresh install and have a running system in less than 0.5 days 

no mater what you do, take in consideration to change ALL YOUR CREDENTIALS (email password, etc) when you are done with 
cleaning up the system.
