RE: Compromised email account?

It much more likely means that you've been the victim of a "joe job" -- a
spammer forged your address as the sender of a huge batch of junk emails, in
hopes that:

(a) Existing spam filters would let the messages through, not recognizing
your address as a known spam source. (Good spam filters rely on more than
blacklisting source addresses....)

(b) Bounce notifications -- whether due to good spam filters, or obsolescent
target addresses in their list -- become YOUR problem, not theirs. And so
you see them....

Subject: Compromised email account?

Hi,
After awaking this morning, I found my inbox riddled with failed delivery
notices from my service provider. Wierd thing is I haven't sent emails from
the address in weeks.
Does this mean my inbox has been compromised? If so, is there anything I can
do to reclaim it and maintain it without this issue occuring again?

Jacob.
