Is this site on a different network with a router in between? If it is a
linux router with iptables you can use content-based filtering. With
this you are able to drop or reject SNMP write packets.

All,
does anyone know of any application firewalls (or similar) that is able to block SNMP write connections. I've been
asked to allow a monitoring server access from a differnet site to monitor devices in our secure network. As it only
needs to use SNMP read not write the end goal is to block all but read access. I was wondering if there are any
devices capable of querying and I presume blocking certain commuity strings.

thanks
