Depending on your environment and budget constraints, one way to mitigate risks from potentially unsecure remote pcs is to utilize some of the new technology in Windows Server 2008, namely NAP ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_Access_Protection ) to help ensure that machines connecting remotely are at less risk of being compromised.
