You mean using powershell or perl? =)

Certifications get you noticed but certification <> proficiency.
Knowledge and experience are what counts at the end of the day.

Going back to the first query, www.sans.org and www.giac.org would be
a good start. If you are going for vendor/product-centric security
certification, you can opt for the following (just a few of the many):

RSA Security (http://www.rsasecurity.com/node.asp?id=1258)
RSA/CSE - RSA Certified Systems Engineer
RSA/CA - RSA Certified Administrator
RSA/CI - RSA Certified Instructors

CheckPoint
(http://certification.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http://www.checkpoint.com/services/education/certification/index.html)
CCSA - Check Point Certified Security Administrator
CCSE - Check Point Certified Security Engineer

Cisco
(http://certification.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http://www.cisco.com/en/US/learning/le3/le2/le41/learning%5Fcertification%5Flevel%5Fhome.html)
Cisco Firewall Specialist
Cisco VPN Specialist
Cisco IDS Specialist
CCSP - Cisco Certified Security Professional

TruSecure (http://www.trusecure.com/solutions/certifications)
TICSA - TruSecure ICSA Certified Security Associate
TICSE - TruSecure ICSA Certified Security Engineer

Good luck!

Look through their course offerings and certifications. If you arent
certified, you're facing a pretty stifff competition out there.

I had an MCSE ask me how to change the static IP address on a windows
machine.
