I don't know what is cost effective for you but I have dealt with Integrity Firewalls which initially belonged to ZoneLabs then bought out by Checkpoint. It looks like they have integrated that solution into their Enterprise Solution as VPN Client. I also used Sygate which was working both as Host-Base Firewall and Application monitor.
