The Seagate 5400 FDE is available from many retailers. Here's a link to
the item on CDW's website
http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=1275047

The biggest problem with these is that they use SATA-2 interface on
their 2.5 inch models, lots of laptops still ship with PATA (IDE)
interface drives.
Dell offers these drives upon request on most laptop lines except for
the D4xx Series. Lenovo also offers them for their T and X Series.

Good luck,

Subject: Full disk encryption from disk drive manufacturers?

Does anyone know a source for Seagate Momentus 5400 FDE.2 hard drives
which support full disk encryption? Are they produced anymore?

Also, are there any other drives available to OEMs or retail which
support full disk encryption? I heard Toshiba may be releasing a
similar product?

I'm aware of the software products available to provide disk and
volume encryption, but I'm curious about the drives which support
these features in their firmware.

Thanks!
