If you read that page, HD Moore himself explains that his work is not
even an attack against Tor itself. It's a refinement of an attack
against other vectors Tor was never designed to address, conducted with
the blessings and the assistance of Tor's developers.

It's significant to Tor users because it highlights the pitfalls of not
following the advice of people who know a little bit about security,
and it's something that will ultimately make Tor even stronger, but
it's not any "breakage" of Tor itself
