RE: How to get into Penetration testing?

Some people mentioned that Mile 2's CPTS course is the most up to date
course for pen testing at the moment.

Does anyone have any information on how to take the course in U.K.,
specifically London, or is it only available in the US?

Thanks

Didn't you write?:

I'd recommend you learn perl or c++, and get a book on the Subject. I
liked "Hacking Exposed" because it exposes you to many different tools
you can use, without being too detailed.

Please bear in mind that I'm still very much
a beginner at pen-testing; but this is what
I gathered so far.

While I do agree on that, it's only a part of being what
a PT does. You'd have to understand the philosophy and
ethics of being a pen-tester. Anyone can simply pick
up a tool and start testing away; but it doesn't give
the beginning pen-tester the philosophy that is required.

In any event, there are certainly quite a lot of books
available that can give the OP an understanding.

Aside for the obvious pen-testing books, I believe
other books are more or less relevant, particularly
those dealing with ethics. (IT Ethics handbook
by Syngress comes to my mind.)
