Email Interception/Theft Statistics

Would anyone be able to point me in a direction where I could find some stats surrounding email theft/loss?

I have been asked by my employer to outline risks associated with sending personal information in the clear via email.

What would be best is any type of report that said Company ABC suffered XYZ as a result of intercepted emails
containing personal info, etc, etc.

Any direction would be greatly apprciated. I've been searching, and have found nothing with numbers yet.

Thanks much,
David
