I agree wholeheartedly! Incident repose even is ok, but forensics is a defined term in a court of law, there are legislative implications with the use of the word. People who aren't associated with law enforcement, engaged in the forensic investigation of alleged crimes, simply need to stop using the word "forensics" and start using the word "investigations". Within ten years there will be no difference between a private investigator and what we consider today to be digital/computer forensics performed by non-LE in the context of purely internal matters or in the context of civil litigation. If a crime has not been committed then what you're doing is not "forensics" even if everyone else does still call it that today.
