Icq had a client and server version so you could create your own without having to rely on someone elses server as in MSN, ICQ, AIM... Im not sure if it is still around but you could look for it. Try IServerd http://iserverd.khstu.ru/ that might help. -Gary Simat

The only one that came to mind was ICQ Groupware, but that creates a management headache that they may or may not be up for. Bonus points for me if it links into Blackberrys or cell phone messaging.
