anybody blocking or having a security policy that
disallow users from using freemail (yahoo, hotmail,
etc)?

I don't use a web traffic screener (surf control, etc) so I've put
the hotmail, etc, servers IP addresses in my firewall and disallowed
access to them.

what are security threat that freemail poses to
corporate network?

They allow users to bypass your corporate security policy by
not having the mail conform to company standards (virus scan, blocking,
content, etc).
They allow users to communicate without it being monitored, i.e. they
can send out
company secrets, passwords, etc without your knowledge.

It's also a productivity issue, they could be working but instead their
checking
their freaking AOL email.
