Not to sound like an sales person, but I suggest you look into Intrusense
nSight. We swear by 
it now.

  - Distributed and standalone deployments
  - Centralized management
  - It's constantly running and monitoring your network traffic 
  - Really nice looking Web-based interface with easy to understand statistics
and graphs
  - Dead simple to install and configure
  - Easy to identifiy traffic anomalies and misuse
  - Inexpensive
