Hi Binks,

Pen-test is short for penetration testing, basically someone trying to
gain access to your network/system resources for the purpose of finding
any security holes before an unsavory character does.

The documents located here http://www.sans.org/rr/catindex.php?cat_id=42
may give you a better idea. Also remember to google.

Subject: what is pen-testing?

Hi all,
I am a newbie to security, and I just wondered what this pen-test thing
that
keeps popping up is all about

Thanx

Binks
