Use the Tools->Autocorrect Options and turn off the hyperlink options under auto correct as you type tag and under the auto replace tag. Also look at the options for the ctrl+click option checkbox. This will stop web addresses from automatically becoming hyperlinks. I am using Office XP by the way so you might be different if your version is different. Do a help and search for hyperlink and the various options available will be shown under you word help. Hope this helps -----Original Message----- From: Christian Simatos [mailto:christiansimatos () freesurf fr] Sent: 19 March 2003 07:08 To: security basics Subject: WORD to open an IE window for URLs in documents For security reason we do not want to allow WORD or Excell to access the Internet. Does someone know how to tell them to open a separate window in IExplorer when one clicks on a URL in a WORD/EXCEL document? -- TIA, chris ****************************************************************************** This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
